Elk Conservation in the Kootenays

A conversation with Ministry of Transportation Victoria

Preventing wildlife collisions is a topic that the Kootenay Elk Hunting Association takes very seriously.

Ungulate loss due to vehicle collisions is a detrimental loss to our already delicate herds. We have recently been in touch with the BC Ministry of Transportation in Victoria about the lack of signage on Hwy 3 and Hwy 3A. We got positive feedback from them about this topic on specific areas in elk winter ranges.

If you have noticed an area in the Kootenay's or elsewhere lacking highway wildlife warning signage please let us know @ kootenayelkhunting@outlook.com.
