OUR STORY
The Kootenay Elk Hunting Association is a new non-profit society created to try to shine a spotlight on Region 4 in hopes of getting some government funding and conservation programs put back in our area. As a society, we would like to see some proper wildlife counts, a better predator control system and to have more of a voice in regulation management.
We are working closely with other hunting and wildlife conservation groups, as well as some other local groups, to accomplish this common goal. If we can work together, this is a huge platform for us to be able to make some positive changes on a higher level. We want to educate the community to show the importance of wildlife conservation and to support the local trapping communities.
One main focus of Kootenay Elk Hunting Association is to connect with youth interested in hunting and facilitate their opportunity to have the same hunting privileges that we all had growing up, and for generations to come.
